2001 Highlights
| The year started off sadly with the passing of Rajeshwar Bhargava, Papa's long time friend. He helped us a lot when we moved to Ottawa and we will miss his presence very much. |  |
Anika found her passion and had tons of fun in her dance classes with her
friend Alexia. In September, Anika started school!  |

 Techwiz was born, March 16th.
I had two clients right away and the days just melted away working and learning. |
Ruchi went to India for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. A difficult and brave trip, especially leaving Sharad and Shiv behind. But it was well worth it when she returned in better health. | Beta (a fish friend) joined the family  |
In April we had to get busy planning for our trip to Florida, end of May.
Peter spent hours planning and researching house and car rental.
His hard work paid off; we had a wonderful house to enjoy our holidays in
along with Peters parents and sister and fiancé. The swimming pool in the
house was a definite hit with everyone.. We did all the major theme parks
and many buffet dinners. |
 Anika
got to celebrate her birthday in Florida and in Ottawa with her friends.Ana,
Adrian,Alexia, Sanjay and Jaden were there to make it a fun day. |
 We
returned home happy because Peter's parents along with a friend of theirs
also came back to Ottawa. We all trekked down to Montreal to celebrate Papa's
seventieth birthday. There was a big party to celebrate. |
 Little
did I know but there was a conspiracy to plan a surprise party for my fortieth
birthday too. But first I had another surprise. Peter had planned
a hot air balloon ride for us! |
 On
Peter's birthday we went to the swedish ambassadors residence to celebrate
midsummer,and later went out for a Mexican
dinner at Ricks Cantina, mysteriously they knew that it was Peter's birthday
;).

The 1989 Nissan had to be replaced with a 1998 Nissan.

Mid October, Adrian lost his favorite beanie rabbit, Sala. Seeing his sadness we put up posters and spread the word around. For days, no word and then suddenly, Adrian got a call, someone found Sala. It was a happy moment to say the least. Other events for Adrian were that he got his green belt and enrolled in the black belt program. He started school in the grade 2-3 split. |
Bad weather on Halloween didn't stop Adrian and Anika from going out.
We also attended the first-ever Halloween bash at the school
along with a vampire and an angel.
Then came Diwali and we went to Montreal to celebrate. (2001-11-14,394).
Shortly after,on Nov 15, we heard that Shashi, Raj uncle's daughter passed away from cancer. It was very sad news and we still have a hard time believing it and think about her often. The rest of the year flew by, with cookie exchanges, field trip to museum of civilization(2001-12-11,692) and christmas parties and concerts at Adrian's(2001-12-11,706) and Anika's class(2001-12-11,728). We had Fiona (the incredible vanishing woman) visit us from Toronto with her family and new dog (2001-12-23,847) Christmas came (20-12-25,897) and brought fun and family to our house...including maussi and maussaji from Windsor. The fun didn't end there... we went to Montreal and celebrated New Years at Bellerose. Isna,Goosy,Adrian,Anika and Shiv had a great time. The year ended with happiness and joy at being together with family.
